At ACA CERTIFICATION, we understand that the passion for autographed items has gained a large number of followers. Everyone has surely obtained, one day or another, the signature of a high-level athlete or even an artistic personality from here or elsewhere. Obviously, when the time comes to transact your item, you cannot get the maximum value from it without proof of the legitimacy of the signature. This is why a certificate of authenticity then becomes imperative.

Our turnaround time is 20 working days. Turnaround times do not include postal delivery time.

How we work

Our verification begins with the study of the ink and the material, they must correspond to the time in which the person lived. For example, a Babe Ruth signature made with a felt-tip pen will be automatically rejected because its invention dates from 1963, 15 years after Babe Ruth’s death.

We examine the signature under an electronic microscope with UV light. This allows us to know if it is a real signature or a simple impression. We can also see the pressure on the pencil and the speed of signing. These characteristics must match those of the person. For example, a very fast signature from Jean Béliveau has little chance of being accepted because he used to take his time and sign slowly.

Then we compare it to other signatures of the person in question in our database. We compare, among other things, the signature angle, the shape and size of the letters.

When the signature meets all of these criteria, we then proceed with its authentication.

First we assign it a serial number. Subsequently, a certificate or letter of authenticity (depending on your choice of service) identified by the same number is given to you to accompany your item. Note that the letter of authenticity is printed on anti-counterfeiting paper.
