CARD GRADING
Rates Grading Scale Have your cards graded Database
The ACA grading service is the Canadian #1 service when it comes to authenticating and grading your trading cards. We evaluate centering, corners, borders and surface separately, and then give an overall score on a scale of 1 to 10 with half points. The cards are measured, checked under a magnifying glass, studied under a microscope and under UV light if necessary. You can be assured that these will be properly and professionally assessed.
ACA seals the cards using an ultrasonic press in a waterproof container made of polycarbonate, the same robust material used to make hockey helmet visors, more resistant to scratches and protecting them against UV rays .
We do not grade cards such as Magic the Gathering, Pokemon, etc…
We do not grade cards larger than standard (Tall boys, booklets, or oversized cards).
Turnaround time
*Deadlines vary depending on demand and the volume of current orders. . Currently, they are around 3 months for regular service.
Bronze (30 business days), Silver (10 business days), and Gold (3 business days) services are also available.
Minimum Grade
When you submit your card, you can request a minimum grade from ACA. When it does not meet the minimum desired grade, your card will not be encapsulated and the problems will be identified with a marker on the plastic protector (top loader or other).
Autograph authentication
When your card has been signed in person, you can ask us to authenticate the signature in addition to having it graded, a fee of $20 will be added. If your autographed card is from a sealed product like Upper Deck, Topps, Panini etc…there is no additional charge to grade the autograph. If you only want to authenticate the signature, choose the “Authentication only” option. Your card will be authenticated and encapsulated.
On-Site Grading
We don’t grade cards on site while you wait, but you can bring them in and come back for them when they’re ready. Remember to always place your order on our site or fill out the order form before bringing your cards. If you complete the electronic form but do not want to pay right away, you can choose the EMT payment option, you can proceed to payment once your order is completed without any problem.
How we work
1
First, we carefully examine your card in order to authenticate it. In the world of collecting, several cards have been the target of fraud (reproduction or counterfeiting) and this is why it becomes important to take this step.
2
We will then evaluate your card and give it a score on a scale of 1 to 10 to identify its condition.
3
We print a certification label and encapsulate your card.
On the front of the label you will find:
– The description of your card
– The overall score
At the back you will find:
– Notes for the 4 subgrades (Now only for cards from 1999-00 to present).
– The note for the autograph (if applicable)
– The certification number
A silver label is used for cards from 1981 to present.
A gold label is used for cards from 1980 or earlier.
A red label is used for cards with 4 subgrades rated 10 (perfect card).

Finally, we carefully store your card information in a database that can be consulted on our site.
